You Need a Driver's License
While it may seem like common sense, there are many people who do not realize that they must have a valid driver's license in order to take classes to receive their CDL. A DUI Could Make You Disqualified to Work as a Bus Driver
There are some jurisdictions that will not hire you to drive a bus if you have had a DUI within a certain number of years, so take the time to reach out to the jurisdiction where you plan to work to find out what their restrictions are to ensure that you qualify for the job before paying the money to take the CDL classes.
You Need to Study and Pass Tests
In order to be able to get your CDL, you will have to take classes at the driving school and then take tests to prove that you have mastered the skills you need in order to operate the bus properly. If you want to get a CDL to drive trucks as well, you need to take separate classes and pass a different test than the classes and tests for becoming a bus driver.
Once you have taken the classes and gotten your CDL to become a bus driver, you can start work right away.
